STRUCTURAL ENGINEER RFP
Structural Engineer Experience: 5 years minimum in the residential field as a licensed Structural Engineer.
CONTRACT SALARY: Starting at $15,000 negotiable for job duration and work experience
SCOPE OF WORK:
Residential remodel of a 2000 SF wood framed home. This two level home has partial 7’-0” high CMU foundation walls that are grouted in a grid pattern and also solid grouted walls retaining part of the upper floor level.
The roof system will be removed and replaced with larger glulam beams (GLB) throughout and will be exposed. There will be new GLB trust introduced that will spans 16 feet to carry the new roof beams. The existing brick fire place will be removed down to a few inches below the second level.
Existing doors and windows will replaced and headers raised up from 6’-8” to 7’-0”.
A 12’-0”x 20’-0” area of the existing garage will be remodeled to accommodate a 3’-0” raised floor addition that will expand the existing dinning area and maximize the few of Morro Bay and the rock. A 12’-0”x 20’-0” will be added the left-over existing garage to accommodate a 2 car garage. This will include 8’-0”+ high new CMU retaining walls.
There will be a new wood framed 1200 sf wood deck system including footings. As well as some site retaining walls.
ENGINEER & ARCHITECTS EFFORT:
The Architect will provide Revit drawings of a fully developed Design Development effort.
Revit 22-25 will be the only CAD program we will be using.
The Architect expects some adjustment to the design based on the engineers effort.
DELIVERABLES:
At least 2 site visits, one as kick-off and the second as a preliminary design review prior to Construction document startup.
All service, documents and calculation necessary to provide a comprehensive understanding to the Architect of the Preliminary design effort.
All calculations, drawings and details to be include in the Architect’s set of 24”x 36” construction documents submittal set to the City of Morro Bay.
All Calculations. Calculations to be in 8 ½” x11” format complying the the City of Morro Bay expectations.
Any specification needed to identify designated materials, testing of those materials. Specifications can be 81/2 x 11 format or located on the 24x36 drawings.
INCLUSIONS – as part of basic services
All services, drawings and supporting documents necessary to acquire a building permit with the City of Morro Bay.
Construction administration necessary to explain to the contractor your structural design intent.
All reproduction cost up to final permitting.
EXCLUSIONS: not part of basic services
More than two pre construction site visits. Please list your cost for additional site visits.
Site visit during construction, please list your hourly rate if different than above.
Construction Administration other than the aforementioned. Please list your hourly rate.
Reproduction cost during construction.
